How to Design a Farmhouse Ornament for the Glowforge Using Adobe Illustrator

This tutorial shows you how to create a farmhouse style shiplap ornament for the Glowforge using Adobe Illustrator.

We cover how to create the circular backing, score shiplap lines onto the backing, create an ornament frame, and unite the text to the ornament frame using the Pathfinders panel.

I used Madina Clean font, which can be purchased here: https://setsailstudios.com/say-hello-to-madina-clean/

If you’d rather just buy the completed file, you can do that here: https://www.etsy.com/listing/858508593/farmhouse-ornament-merry-bright-file-for

I used 1/8” white oak and walnut plywood from Smokey Hill Designs for my test cut. My cut and score setting was Proofgrade Medium Walnut Plywood.
