TimberKing 1620 Visits The Poor Boys Retreat Plus First Log Sawn

Today's video is twofold, first the new portable Timberking 1620 sawmill is revealed while we set it in position in the exact spot dedicated for the Frontier's relocation. Surprise, that was the plan all along, I just didn't want you to know. Second, once set up and leveled we put on one of the nastiest oaks in the pile and processed it into usable lumber. Now, the interesting part is how many mistakes I make during the painful experience of sawing the first ever log on the machine. It seems I forgot nearly EVERYTHING I learned from the factory training session. But then it has been a considerable time since I went through the training too. I show pretty much all the mistakes made except for the most egregious.... The point being, no one is going to settle right in to a smooth operation of a strange mill on the first log. As we move forward I am expecting much smoother operation, still more mistakes repetitive and new, but slowly better with each log. I hope.
Another takeaway is the fact that I love this mill...now the totally manual Frontier was a great machine, it just cannot hold a candle to this 'New Kid On The Block". More to come and I hope it'll be a higher quality of video. #sawmill, #band, #offgrid
