How to Use CUSTOM Grout Colorants

As part of our Tile Installation How-To series, this video shows you how to install a Custom Building Products grout colorant. This video applies to cementitious grout like PolyBlend or Prism.

Recoloring grout is a straightforward process and doesn’t require special training. Contacting our Custom Technical Services at 800-282-8786 and reviewing the Technical Data sheet online will give you the comprehensive details you need.

Although the particular materials you need will depend on your particular project, common materials needed when using a CUSTOM grout colorant are:

• A toothbrush
• Clean container
• Water
• Stiff scrub brush
• Sealer remover, like Sulfamic Acid
• A spray bottle and song
• Paper towels

Follow the steps in this video for testing your grout colorant, scrubbing the joints and safe and effective application. Be sure to wear impervious gloves like nitrile for your protection.
