How to Create Dark Blonde Hair with Zoe Irwin | Wella Professionals
So many shades of blonde, so little time. The blonde hair spectrum is endless and you should know; your clients have tried everything from Cali Balayage to golden babylights and even gone full-on bronde. Now they’re ready for a fresh new hue to enjoy, and you are looking to boost your blonde color portfolio.
Make way for dark blonde hair, the versatile in-between shade that suits almost everyone.
Sitting somewhere in the middle of the light brown and blonde color spectrum, dark blonde is a soft and subtle shade.
Whether warm or cool, dark blonde suits most skin tones and can be worn alone or with hints of other multi-tonal hues, making this the hard-working shade you’ll love to experiment with.
If you have a client who wants to go from light to dark blonde, you should do this transition really softly.
Use Perfecton/3 to stain the hair gradually. Once you get the right undertone, introduce really fine pieces in foils, like babylights, to give a multi-dimensional effect by using Illumina Color 7/7, 7/31 and 8/37. You can add a few lighter tones of 10/36 around the face to keep the transition even softer.
To freshen up a natural dark blonde, introduce warmers tones such as ILLUMINA COLOR 10/38, 10/36, 8/38, keeping the tones really delicate but still with some substance.
