Esrawe + Cadena | Designers of the Bartlit Learning & Engagement Center at the Denver Art Museum
Mexico City-based designers Héctor Esrawe and Ignacio Cadena discuss the Jana & Fred Bartlit Learning and Engagement Center opening at the Denver Art Museum October 24, 2021.
The new Bartlit Learning and Engagement Center in the renovated Lanny & Sharon Martin Building puts education at the heart of the museum's campus to expand opportunities for creative exploration, human connection, and lifelong learning. When designing and developing programming for the new center, the team focused on creating welcoming spaces that help connect visitors with artists and one another and inspire wellness with creative opportunities for visitors of all ages. Esrawe + Cadena worked with museum staff over several years to design the Bartlit Learning and Engagement Center's spaces and modular furniture.
The Morgridge Creative Hub in the Bartlit Learning and Engagement Center is a dynamic educational space on level one of the Martin Building. It will facilitate school group visits, feature hands-on artmaking activities inspired by the creative process, and serve as a location for creative communities to convene for discussion and participation in DAM programs.
The Singer Pollack Wonderscape in the Bartlit Learning and Engagement Center will host community-created exhibitions and school events on the lower level.
