2004 Atlantic Hurricane Season Animation v.3
One of the classic Atlantic hurricane seasons, 2004, gets a third rendition on the Force Thirteen channel.
Largely overshadowed in history by the following season, 2004 still featured many major storms, beginning with Charley which explosively intensified before striking the western coast of Florida. Frances then went on to strike the eastern side of Florida, and within three weeks, Jeanne made landfall in exactly the same location, both as significant hurricanes.
Jeanne also caused a humanitarian disaster on Hispaniola due to its rainfall and stalling motion in the region.
However, the most prominent storm of the season was the only Category 5, Ivan, which formed at a very low latitude and blasted through the Windward islands, and terrorised other parts of the Caribbean before hurtling into the Gulf Coast of Alabama.
Alex and Karl were also impressive major hurricanes, but largely forgotten due to their little impact on land.
