Why Was There a Blackout Along the East Coast 15 Years Ago?
Fifteen years ago, on August 14, 2003, much of the east coast was plunged into darkness. The power outages, which affected more than 50 million people, was sparked by a glitch at an Akron Ohio energy company, causing 265 power plants to shut down.
