Buying vs leasing a car is a big decision and it can have a huge impact on your personal finances over a long period of time. Many financial experts like Dave Ramsey scream up and down that leasing a car is the worst thing you can do while others would much rather have a no car every three years and not worry about anything.

It really all comes down to your specific situation and goals. There is no one size fits all. Financially, it is going to be best to buy a used car and drive it for as long as possible but that is not for everyone. Many people are willing to pay more to drive a new car every three years and who can blame them. It is a very nice feeling driving a brand new car.

In this video, I give a breakdown of the three different options using a current offer on a 2021 Acura TLX. Leasing vs buying vs buying a three year old used vehicle. I made a lot of assumptions in this video because it is impossible to know the numbers for certain. Everything is negotiable when it comes to buying or leasing a car. There are so many different makes, models, and manufacturer incentives that change over time. I decided to stick to a general overview for this video.
