This is about more than NOT BURNING! We need to choose wisely when it comes to our sunscreen! Blocking the UVB rays is important for sunburn and cancer protection BUT blocking the UVA rays is important for protecting our skin from DNA damage, collagen damage, hyper pigmentation and inflammation. In this video I am breaking down the key ingredients to look for no matter what sunscreen you choose. I have been testing sunscreen for months to find the very BEST of both types of sunscreen: Physical (mineral) and Chemical.

Neutrogena Sheer Zinc Dry Touch (this one is great for boating or activities where a little white cast is ok. This did get caught up in my husband's beard but it was otherwise a great choice from the drugstore):

Drunk Elephant Umbra Sheer SPF 30 (This one is GREAT on it's own. I almost left it off the list because I didn't care for it with make-up. But stand alone it is a beautiful sunscreen with 20% Zinc)

Boscia Skin perfecting BB (this is a great option that comes in 4 colors that you can MIX in to other sunscreens to cut the white. The darkest color is relatively dark and could be a great option for those with darker complexions)

Aveeno Positively Mineral (I liked this one DESPITE the intense white cast. I thought that the consistency was elegant when I mixed it with a tinted mineral sunscreen. All alone it is TOO white though):
