The RECOMMENDED way to setup a Kajabi custom domain name #kajabihero

Kajabi came up with a recommended way of setting up a custom domain name. Here's how to do it. Click on the timestamps below to skip to that part.

Okay. In this video I am going to show you how to set up the custom domain using the currently recommended method
which is updating the DNS settings at your domain registrar. I have my Kajabi site open. I've also logged in to Go Daddy so I happen to register all my domains at Go Daddy. This process is going to be very similar at other domain registrars. There's just way too many to, for me to show you every single one. But the important thing that you're going to look for is DNS. Just keep that in mind. So
I'm logged in to Go Daddy. So I am ready to go when i need it. And I'm going to come back here to Kajabi. To set up our custom domain we're going to come down here in the lower left hand corner and go to our settings. And you'll see here under site
settings, we have our custom domain. So I'm going to click on that. It's going to ask me what domain do we want to connect? So
again as I mentioned in the previous video, you have the option of using your regular domain or a sub domain. So you can see here they actually give you an example of you know, learn.mysite.com So the site or the domain I am going to connect is www.membershiptechhub.com Now you're always going to want to start with the www and at the end of this video we're going to fix,
we're going to make sure we've got the other one set up as well. Okay, here it says: prefer to use Cloudflare to secure your domain
toggle off to configure your custom domain with Cloudflare. We're not using Cloudflare in this situation so leave this the way it is with the green button saying on. Now I'm going to click next. So now it's going to tell me you want to connect your domain at my domain registrar. Here is a helpful link with all the step-by-step which is super important. It's always good to have this as a backup. But I'm going to go ahead and go to Go Daddy and go to my DNS and i'm going to click on this. It says manage the zones. So the zones are all of the, oops! It wants me to tell it which one. The membership tech hub. Okay. So these are all the records. So if you remember I
told you that all of these different records are like the phone book and so these are directing Internet traffic to your website. Now especially if you have not.... you haven't used a website or you haven't had a website yet for this domain. So this domain has never been attached to another website. It's probably going to look pretty plain like this. So what we need to do is we need to take change this CNAME record. So right now the www points at and there is this @, well @ is this A record. I'm not going to.... get too down the weeds in this. Just trust me and follow me with this. So what we want to do is click the little pencil and instead of this @ we want to have it point to something called ssl.kajabi.com Now you might wonder why am I pointing to that? and not the mykajabisite.com? Well trust me, this is what you want because one, this is the way it's set up to point to the right place. And two, this is going to also include an SSL certificate which is the security that you need to have on the domain to make sure when
