Thousands of African traders work in Guangzhou’s Xiao Bei area, which locals call ‘Little Africa’ or the ‘Chocolate City’. As China’s population starts to shrink and labour costs rise, local businesses have begun looking to Africa as a solution. Could raising immigration rates also be part of China’s future?
