COMSOL Tutorial: Joule Heating | Coupling Electric Currents and Heat Transfer in Solids
In this tutorial, you will learn how to model Joule heating in COMSOL Multiphysics by coupling Electric Currents and Heat Transfer in Solids. We simulate a copper wire subjected to an electric potential difference and analyze the resulting temperature distribution under steady-state conditions.
The model includes radiation heat transfer and is validated against an analytical solution. Finally, we extend the study to a more complex helical wire geometry.
