‘About time they woke up’: Grattan Institute report ‘quite a surprise’ says LNP MP

LNP MP Keith Pitt says the Grattan Institute report calls for reforms in Australia’s transition to net zero is “quite a surprise” but it is “about time they woke up”.

The Grattan Institute has released a report that argues the national energy market needs to be reformed if Australia is to avoid blackouts during the transition to net zero.

“This is the mob who said, oh, you won’t have time to get community support, you can just forget all that, I would just roll over those regional communities, they don’t matter,” Mr Pitt told Sky News host Peta Credlin.

“Now we see they are claiming, guess what, it won’t work.

“It’s quite a surprise, but it’s about time they woke up.”
