How to Change Lexus RX350 License Plate Light?

To change the license plate light on a Lexus RX350, first ensure the vehicle is turned off and the headlights are off to prevent electrical shock. Locate the light housings, typically two, situated just above the license plate on the tailgate. Depending on your RX350's specific year, these might be secured by two small Phillips head screws each, or simply clip into place. If screwed, carefully remove them. If clipped, use a plastic pry tool to gently unclip the housing from the bodywork. Once the housing is free, twist the bulb holder counter-clockwise to detach it. Carefully pull the old wedge-type bulb (commonly a 194 or T10) straight out of the socket. Insert the new bulb firmly into the socket. Before reassembling, it's wise to briefly turn on the headlights to confirm the new bulb illuminates. Finally, reattach the bulb holder into the housing, twist clockwise to secure, and then clip or screw the light housing back into the tailgate, ensuring a snug fit to prevent moisture intrusion.
