How to turn off child lock on a Jeep Cherokee?

Disabling the child lock on your Jeep Cherokee's rear doors is a straightforward process designed for passenger safety. To begin, open the specific rear door you wish to unlock from the outside. You will locate a small, often colored (typically white or yellow), lever or switch. This mechanism is usually identifiable by an arrow pointing towards a "lock" or "unlock" symbol, or a simple padlock icon. To deactivate the child lock, insert the tip of your Jeep's ignition key or a small flat-head screwdriver into the slot provided, and firmly slide or flip the lever to the "unlock" position.
