This is the first video in a 2 part tutorial detailing how I make my marble split cups. In this tutorial I’m using a 20oz Skinny tumbler from www.crafthaven.com. **Use code FLYNNSISTERS for 5% off your order!

**PLEASE READ** BEFORE APPLYING THE WATERSLIDE FOR THE MARBLE SIDE - MAKE SURE YOU EITHER SPRAY THE WHITE SPRAY PAINT WITH CLEAR GLOSS SPRAY SEALER OR APPLY A LAYER OF EPOXY FIRST - I FORGOT TO ADD THIS INTO THE TUTORIAL. IF YOU DON'T DO THIS, YOUR WATERSLIDE IMAGE WILL LOOK LIKE IT'S SEPARATED FROM THE CUP IN PLACES OR YOU'LL NOTICE YOU SEE THE MATTE TEXTURE FROM THE PAINT UNDERNEATH IT!! SORRY FOR LEAVING THIS OUT!! YOU ALWAYS WANT TO APPLY CLEAR WATERSLIDE TO A SHINY, GLOSSY SURFACE.

Step 1: Properly prep your cup by sanding and wiping down with acetone, then cleaning it off with dishsoap and water. Dry it really well. My favorite sanding blocks: https://amzn.to/3agx5Ao

Step 2: Spray paint the whole cup using white matte spray paint and let dry fully. Get the spray here: https://amzn.to/389eNzp

Step 3: Make a template by tracing the bottom of the cup to find the exact center line and mark it with a pencil. Make sure to erase any unwanted pencil lines.

Step 4: Tape off one side using painters tape and spray paint one side of your cup with the rose gold spray paint and let dry fully. Get the tape here: https://amzn.to/3clBYK7 Get the rose gold paint here: https://amzn.to/32D6fzM

Step 5: Measure and mark 3.5” up from the bottom on one side and 1.5” up from the bottom on the other and mark with a pencil. Tape off the front bottom section (optional). Apply thin coat of epoxy to the top front section, making sure to smooth out any lines in the epoxy. Apply glitter (COLORS USED: “Rose Gold Opal” + “143”). Step 6: After the glitter has dried for 2-3 hours, tap off any excess glitter, remove tape and replace tape just slightly over from where it was before. Apply a normal size coat (about 7ml for a small section like this) of polycrylic over just the glittered section and allow to dry on your cup turner for at least one hour. Step 7: Remove tape from the white section and put the tape over the rose gold section and spray the white matte spray paint with a clear GLOSS acrylic sealer OR you can apply a thing layer of epoxy at this time. Then apply the waterslide sheet. THE VIDEO ACCIDENTALLY skips this step (SORRY!). In this video we’re using Kodiak brand clear inkjet waterslide that has been sealed 3 times with Rustoleum 2x Clear Gloss spray. The top and bottom should be wrapped around the top and bottom edge until smooth and the sides will be trimmed with a knife and remove tape.
