Original Whirlpool Mermaid Tumbler Tutorial

Inspired by the Gypsy Leopard tumbler by Flynn Sisters Boutique, this Whirlpool Mermaid tumbler quickly became a favourite with customers and tumbler artisans alike. The style has been adapted to a mermaid/watercolour and design theme. This is the original tutorial for this technique.

In this video, I will share with you a step-by-step tutorial on how I make these Whirlpool Mermaid tumblers.

The double-sided tape, all glitters, CCDIY products, silicone stir sticks, epoxy pigment dyes, and chameleon flakes and chameleon powders were purchased from Canada's own Em & Kat Glitter Factory. Materials used are as follows:

Mermaid Scale SVG File available from my Etsy Shop (LovelyLouLouDesigns):

Chameleon Flakes in Transparent Blue-Lilac-Green-Gold: https://emandkatco.com/product/chameleon-flakes/
Chameleon Powder in Light Purple: https://emandkatco.com/product/chameleon-powders/
Various Glitters:
So Fetch, Champagne Dreams, MLP, Diamond Dust, Mermaid's Tail, Purple Rain, Sparkle Face, Princess, Pretty Pegasus, Cinderella, Sugar Crush, Breakfast at Tiffany's, My Little Pony, Wild Mauve, Circle Shaped Glitter (Steam Punk). *Please keep in mind you do not have to use all of the glitters I used in order to make this style. You can add or remove whichever colours you prefer or use an entirely different palette altogether.
CCDIY Armor Art Epoxy Pigments:
White, Black, Light Green

I purchased Aleene's Tack-It Over and Over from Amazon.ca:

*Please remember that while you don't need to use this brand to adhere your chameleon flakes, you do need to use a repositionable glue.

The white 100lb cardstock I used was originally purchased from Michael's. However, Amazon carries this as well. Here's a link to one of their listings:

The epoxy I use for all my tumblers is Counter Culture DIY Artist Resin Medium Viscosity. At the time this video was recorded, Em & Kat Glitter Factory is the exclusive Canadian distributor for all CCDIY products.

One of my favourite aspects of art is how the same design can be interpreted and used in so many different ways; ways that reflect the uniqueness of each creator. For this reason, I would love to be able to follow your work and see your lovely creations. To help me (and possibly others) follow your work and see your lovelies, feel free to use the hashtag #heylovelies when you share your work featuring LLLD designs or inspired by LLLD tutorials on your social media platforms. I'm on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok.
