APP Sub-Inspector Chote Lal Sahni Accused of Assaulting Farmer Under Directions of CO Tadang Rai

Anini, May 21: Tension prevailed in Anini following allegations of assault involving a senior farmer and officials of the district administration and police, prompting demands for an impartial inquiry and immediate action against the accused officers.

According to reports, the incident allegedly took place on the evening of May 20 at around 7:30 pm and involved respected farmer and senior Agriculture Department official Shri Jamo Mihu. Family members and local residents alleged that he was physically assaulted by APP Sub-Inspector Chote Lal Sahni, reportedly under the direction of Circle Officer (CO) Tadang Rai.

Sources said the incident began when Jamo Mihu had allegedly set fire to his agricultural field as part of the traditional jhum cultivation practice for new farming. The administration reportedly suspected the fire to be a wildfire incident and rushed to the location.
