Serious! Top Indian YouTuber JAILED in KOREA #shorts

A popular Indian content creator and YouTuber named Sachin Awasthi shared a video about a distressing experience he and his wife went through during a recent trip to Jeju Island in South Korea. They had travelled there hoping to enjoy a holiday, but upon arrival immigration officials at Jeju denied them entry and placed them in a holding area. They said they were kept for nearly 38 hours without a clear explanation of why they were being held. During that time, they were escorted by officials, had very limited access to food, phones and communication, and described the conditions as feeling “like a jail.” They were later told they had to book a costly return flight, which they eventually did before being sent back home.

Sachin said in his posts that the experience was very upsetting, and he felt they were treated like criminals despite having valid travel plans. He said communication was restricted, and even simple things like using the restroom were closely monitored by officials.

After his story went viral, the Indian Embassy in Seoul issued a travel advisory for Indian citizens planning to visit Jeju Island. The advisory reminded travellers that the visa-free entry rule for Jeju is specific and does not guarantee entry into South Korea, and that immigration decisions are at the sole discretion of local authorities. The embassy advised visitors to carry complete documentation like return tickets, hotel reservations, proof of funds and detailed travel plans to avoid similar issues.

The incident sparked a lot of discussion online about travel rules, visa policies and the treatment of tourists at foreign immigration checkpoints.
