Harmonic Resonance: Tuning the Instrument of Self | Kathleen Riley, Ph.D.
Every being on this planet creates sound. And the intentions behind the sound have powerful effects in the world. Kathleen Riley discusses the power and potential of intentionality as expressed through spoken word, sound, and music in these extraordinary times of shift and change for humanity and our world. In particular, Kathleen introduces the tuning of self, a belief that has its roots in many cultures and traditions. She discusses heart/brain coherence and the transformative effects achieved at group levels of heart-based communication. Having collaborated on research with the HeartMath Institute, Kathleen also discusses how our sounds, spoken word, music, thoughts, attitudes, and emotions affect the Earth’s magnetic field lines. They are plucked, like guitar strings, by the solar wind.
Kathleen Riley, Ph.D., is a pianist, researcher, lecturer, teacher, and writer with a mission to help people connect more deeply with their purpose and heart’s intelligence, voicing it through their creativity. Post-doctoral studies in neurophysiology, psychology, and biofeedback allowed her to teach people how to shift into coherence and align with purpose and clarity to their vision. While living in Cleveland, Ohio, Kathleen served on faculty at the Cleveland Institute of Music where she designed courses in this alignment, Optimal Performance, and ran a biofeedback lab. Her latest research study explored the effects of a shared heart intention among members of a string quartet. The research was filmed and produced as a documentary: Intention: The Power of the Heart. In response to COVID-19, she created the Global Coherent Performers Community on Facebook, designed to bring performers and researchers together to understand and explore new innovative ways to communicate through sound and music. She also convenes sessions for Ubiquity University Humanity Rising Global Solutions Summit on the transformative effects of music and the arts on coherence and consciousness.
