Swapo secretary general drags Itula's independent candidacy

Swapo secretary general Sophia Shaningwa says the party will deal with Panduleni Itula who was nominated as an independent presidential candidate for the upcoming elections. Shaningwa also called journalists cowards for not enquiring how Itula managed to be nominated and not asking him if he was expelled from the party.

Shaningwa and other senior Swapo leaders have been threatening to expel Itula and his sympathisers from the party since he declared himself as an independent candidate. However, the secretary general did not clarify whether Itula was still a member of Swapo or if he has been expelled.
