Excavating the #RutlandSeaDragon – palaeontologists lift 2 tonne skull out of the ground

All good stories have their fair share of drama, and for the #RutlandSeaDragon this was all about the lifting of the skull. After digging a very deep trench to get underneath the skull, the time had come to lift 2 tonnes of fossil and clay so that it could be safely preserved.
