Close encounter with a Tornado in Wheaton, MO!

One week after major surgery to remove a cancerous mass in my colon, I popped a hydrocodone and dragged myself into Dave Toner's truck, so that we (Along with guest Elijah Ryan) could chase storms. We caught our first one of 2019 in Wheaton, MO. We got pretty close to this one.

This tornado produced multiple votices and did significant structural damage. At times you'll see what appear to be birds. If you look closely though, you'll see that those are shingles, and other debris.

This storm was unfortunately part of a larger outbreak which we ultimately chased all the way back home, where it did fairly significant damage to a local suburb. We then switched modes (back to our day-jobs), and we assisted with supervising the search and rescue/EMS operations. (A big mistake for me, by the way, because I was still healing from the surgery, and having a duty-belt with a radio on it did not feel very good on my abdominal incision. I paid for it the next day! :p )
