New Series? Practice Session - Dec15 (Law of the Wall) (Original)
So, for the past weeks I have had pretty much no time at all music. It makes me a bit sad to not be able to continually create new content during the years. I want to be able to capture different moments/events of my life continuously and not create a lot of stuff in a short period of time followed by a long break. I believe that one feel different every day and that variation transfers to what one creates. Therefore, all my vides will then have a wider range of emotions (if this hypothesis is true, which it might not be), which I think is a good thing.
To solve this problem, I want to create a platform where I lower the threshold in terms of how much work I should but in into the video. I want to call this "Practice Session".
I usually pick up the guitar from time to time and sometimes I come up with something I like. Usually I don't have time to continue work on the idea to make it into a full song, so therefore I record the idea for myself to remember, so I can work on it later. However, now I have a lot of these ideas and I feel that most of them will never be created. When I finally have the time to make a full song, I usually want to start with something from scratch. I feel like the creative process usually gets ruined when I try working on something old. It sometimes feels like working in a factory.
Instead of making another recording which goes to the "Ideas" album, I might as well record it directly and put it up as a "Practice Session" instead of worrying that the recording becomes a bit minimalistic and short. I find that some ideas don't fit as a proper song anyways, so it's good to have a platform where I can release those stuff as well. This also gives me a chance to put up things directly. This is one of my first videos that I pretty much made public directly after making it.
In other words, this is an experiment to see if this approach actually works. Leave a comment what you think. Sorry if the test is a bit unclear. I wrote the first thing that came up in my mind and I don't really have time to rewrite it (per definition).
And yes, I know that I play the bass as a guitar because I haven't learned proper bass technique. But I like how it sounds so I keep doing it anyway. ;)
