Molly and Betty: Daniel Puga
Daniel Puga, a student in the Chicago Botanic Garden's Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) Program, explains his research. Visit https://pbcinternships.org/ for more information on the program.
Molly and Betty is about a Monarch butterfly named Molly and a Polyphemus moth named Betty. This is a short story about two different kinds of pollinators who meet each other and briefly talk about their differences in phenotypic traits. In the end they then finish off with a pollinating adventure.
This is a brief way of how I would introduce different kinds of pollinators such as moths to a younger audience by personifying and bringing more life to nature.
