Viola pedatifida, also known as the prairie violet, is a high-quality native that is important to tallgrass prairie restoration within the Midwest. Due to the difficulty of working with this species, particularly with the environmental sensitivity of this violet, efforts to introduce V. pedatifida into restored natural areas often result in low establishment. This experiment studied the impacts of short-term storage conditions on seed germination.
