Mugu Peak trail in Malibu, Santa Monica Mountains, California

Mugu Peak trail is a beautiful coastal hike right off the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu, California. Come with us up to the summit and check out fantastic 360 degree views of the Pacific Ocean, Santa Monica Mountains and the Channel Islands. While not an easy 3 miles round trip - it is 1225 elevation gain, mostly in the beginning - the effort is well worth the payoff you receive at the top, especially if you like seeing American flags. Just take note that depending on the time of day you may be hiking this trail, there is no cover from the sun and you are completely exposed.
