INA3221 Breakout Modified to Take 3 Independent Voltages - Tutorial - Please ASK Questions

This board is a super popular and cheap way to measure electric current on 3 channels simultaneously, and it's very conveniently set out if you need to supply everything with the same voltage. BUT, the INA3221 IC (Integrated Circuit) is capable of measuring current and voltage across three independent supplies.

If you have bought this board and you need use more than one supply voltage in your system then you will need to modify it.

After scouring over the Texas Instruments datasheet for the INA3221 IC, and then tracking all the traces on the board with a digital microscope, I became convinced this mod would work, so I tried it, and it worked beautifully.

I recommend using the example code from SwitchDoc labs, which they adapted from Adafruit's code for the single channel INA226: https://github.com/switchdoclabs/SDL_Arduino_INA3221
