Hello I did NOT expect to record this today lol, I'd been really taking my time with this one because one, it's hard, and two, how often do you get solo piano themes of this caliber in a video game that isn't a slow pretty melody accompanying a death cutscene or romantic liaison or your party sleeping at an inn? THIS IS A BATTLE THEME AND THE THUNDER VERSION NO LESS, of the Silver Snow route. The day Three Houses came out and the OST was being leaked all over the internet, my friend Patti Rudisill linked me to this and i was like OH WOW I AM ALL OVER THIS. I started transcribing it, then got distracted by Edge of Dawn and Fodlan Winds and we all know what happened after that lol, thankfully some enterprising soul beat me to it: https://musescore.com/user/8920281/scores/5688733

The ending is my own, and based off of a Scriabin prelude, Op. 11, No. 12 in G-sharp minor. What I absolutely LOVE about this theme is the heavy Romantic era harmonic stylings, which is very Chopinesque in nature but because I only have two brain cells lol, one for Rachmaninoff and the other for Scriabin, those ascending 8th note passages reminded me of this prelude so I worked it in hahaha.

I am glad I took my time on this one, although it would have been nice to include on the FE3H piano album, it wasn't possible because of licensing issues, but ended up being a blessing in disguise. I was pretty much an arranging machine from August to December and thus didn't spend as much time practicing as I wanted to because i was spending all my creative capital writing arrangements. So these past few weeks (besides writing all the parts for Apex of the World lol), I really took my time just trying to focus on being a better pianist and refining my tone and phrasing and technique and all that, still not where I want to be, but when am I ever hahaha. At least, I feel happier with my playing on this than a lot of the covers I've been doing lately.

Suffice it to say, this is most likely going to be the last of the solo piano Three Houses covers from me. I would really like to get back to Final Fantasy Tactics and Castlevania especially since Season 3 is dropping in March, so Dance of Pales will be my next upload! But there will be Three Houses collaboration covers from me from time to time (all you guys requesting Indomitable Will/Roar of Dominion/The Long Road/God Shattering Star, stuff is in the works with people, believe me haha)! And Apex of the World for string quartet, voice, harp, and soprano sax, will be dropping for sure in March sometime!
