RC LiPo Internal Resistance Significance and its Link to C Rating

Internal resistance is counter productive to power produced. In fact, the more current we pull from our Battery packs, the more significant role internal resistance will play.

Monitoring the Internal resistance is important to establish a health record of your LiPo battery packs. Measuring and recording the internal resistance of a battery pack when new is important as a relative comparison for future measurements.

Deviation in the internal resistance of a battery pack over time, suggests that the battery packs performance is degrading. Increasing Internal Resistance in a battery pack may yield the following results:
-An increase in temperature of the battery pack
-Poor Performance using the battery pack
-Reduced capacity of the battery pack
