How to Paint a Watercolour Buttercup

How to paint a watercolour buttercup

You can now buy the exact same brushes that I use in my videos in my Etsy store! https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/deWintonPaperco

I am so excited to start painting some beautiful flowers in my new botanical painting style. We will start with a loose wash flower and slowly build up detail. The buttercup is the perfect starting point as they grow wild all over the place and the basic petal structure closely resembles the flowers we painted in Episode 8.

If you've enjoyed this video and would like to support me further take a look at my Patreon page at https://bit.ly/3briO5P to see what we've got to offer.

To capture the details you will need to invest in some small brushes, in subzero sizes. Find the link below for the Proarte masterstroke brushes.

Colours we used (link below to buy paint tubes)
Lemon Yellow
Cadmium Yellow
Cadmium Orange
Sap Green
Green Gold
Raw Umber
Prussian Blue

Don't worry if you don't have all these colours, you can look at my colour chart episode (https://bit.ly/30r7stq) to learn how to mix your own shades from a simple 12 pan student range palette.

I'd love to hear your suggestions for things you would like to learn how to paint in the comments below.
