Amory, MS is no stranger to severe weather. What appeared to be a destructive tornado on radar; ripped a path through parts of downtown and also through neighborhoods. Amory Highschool football stadium as well as the baseball/softball stadiums were damaged. The National Guard base took a hit as well; losing its roof. Power poles and lines laid on the ground and on the roadways throughout town. Houses as well lost their roofs and some had walls that came down.
