Border Patrol Checkpoint Refusal and Removal of Rights

Unfortunately I didn't clear the SD card prior to the trip and was only able to record about half of the encounter. What you don't see is the NM State Policeman arrives and asks for my ID. I made sure I handed him my concealed weapon carry permit as my gun was strapped to my right hip. The cop told me that if I didn't answer the questions from the Border agent that he would arrest me but he didn't say what the charge would be. I am a single parent and can't take a trip to the slammer or I would have still refused to answer. I have to ride a thin line with the single parent situation and my day job. I told the cop that I would answer the question and he said if I have any further need to discuss the situation to pull into the secondary inspection area. I verified they removed the stop sticks they had placed in front of my tires and pulled to the secondary. The cops then walked up to my door and told me to get out. At that time I asked him if he looked at the second piece of identification and he said no. I told him that it was my carry permit and he asked where is my gun was located. I told him it was on my hip next to my seat belt buckle and that he could take my belt off if he wanted. He ordered me to place my hands outside the window and he removed my weapon. I stepped out of my truck and went to the back and finished my discussion. I told the agent that I will answer the questions only due to the threat of arrest and not having someone that can come pick up my daughter. Then we had about a ten minute discussion about the legalities of what I was doing and the consequences. At no point did the officer tell me what the arrest could be for if I didn't answer. I told him that the Fifth Amendment applies to me at any time and he said no and that I have to answer the question. I then looked at the Border Patrol agent and said I am an American citizen and that is why I fight for my rights. I then noticed that my gun was in the bed of my truck with the magazine still in it. I asked the agent if he could better secure my gun and he said it is fine to which I replied that it is in the bed, loaded, and pointing our direction. He removed the magazine and pulled back the slide and said there is no round in the chamber. My reply was to treat every gun as it is loaded and chambered. Then I asked for my magazine and put it in my pocket and my gun in the holster and drove off upset that my rights were violated so much. My daughter was upset and cried when the cop made me get out of the truck but I rather have her mad now then he rights be nonexistent when she is my age.
