More MPs swear in amidst pomp and fanfare

The swearing-in of Members of Parliament, which started yesterday, is continuing at Parliament for the second day.
Hundreds of supporters have escorted their MPs to Kampala to witness the events.

Ivan Kyeyune, the voice behind NTV Uganda’s satirical segment Zungulu, was officially sworn in as the Member of Parliament for Nakasongola County. He was elected on the National Unity Platform ticket.

Kyeyune has pledged to aggressively advocate for improved medical infrastructure in Nakasongola County. The district’s proximity to the accident-prone Kampala–Gulu Highway makes the expansion of the currently inadequate local health facilities a critical priority in preventing avoidable fatalities resulting from road traffic accidents.
