"The Patio Ritual" shows a sincere vision of the Córdoba patios, Intangible Heritage by UNESCO. Beyond their everyday floral performance and everyday home for their inhabitants, these spaces play a vital role as social centers while offering a climatic refuge which has been passed down through generations.

Al entrar en un patio Cordobés el tiempo parece suspenderse y olvidas por unos momentos el mundo exterior. Pierdes la noción del tiempo y se abre ante ti un oasis en miniatura donde los sonidos de la ciudad se evaporan, la temperatura desciende y te rodean unos olores que te dejan algo desorientado.

The project "Raíces vivas" (Living Roots), under the framework of the Spanish Presidency of the Council of the EU, creates a new audiovisual archive on intangible heritage. The author, Juan Rayos, is a filmmaker and makes documentary work that draws on contemporary narrative, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and curated by Juanito Jones.
