"EMO RAPPERS" + THE FUTURE OF ROCK

"Emo rap" and the future of rock have more in common than many people think, eg Epitaph Records signing Lil Lotus and guccihighwaters last week. Some of what I talk about:
- Why artists like Lil Peep, Lil Tracy, Shinigami, Lil Aaron, Hella Sketchy, Fats'e, and 93feetofsmoke aren't actually "emo rappers" at all - I call it "emo with 808s"
- How they compare to actual rappers and the best trap metal artists like Ghostemane, $uicideboy$, Pouya, Shakewell, Scarlxrd and Zillakami
- Where real emo rappers like Lil Uzi Vert, Juice Wrld, XXXtentacion and Post Malone fit in (part of hip hop culture more than rock culture)
- Why it's different from "melodic rap" like Drake, Future, Travis Scott and Roddy Ricch
- Why I think these "emo soundcloud rappers" represent the creativity and DIY ethic missing from so much of pop-punk, metalcore, and other rock genres
