Erbauer 1500 254mm Planer Thicknesser - Faults and quick run through.
So this is my quick review of our new Erbauer planer thicknesser. We decided to go with a cheap unit as we would only be using it for thin timber and thought that anything expensive would have been a waste of money at the current time, well that's what we thought.

We were using it for approximately 10 minutes on thin pallet wood and pine before the main drive belt broke.

List of faults....

1 - Fence was bowed along the length
2 - Fence was cupped
3 - Aluminium pulley has casting fault
4 - Drive shaft for planer blades is bent and has run out
5 - Chain for roller drive is dragging on planer blades driveshaft
6 - Push blocks are not flat
7 - The drive belt snapped.
Good Points...

1 - All metal construction
2 - Price is very cheap (£220) from screwfix
It's worth noting that I did email Screwfix and gave them 48 hours to reply, but they didn't bother coming back to me.

A Lot of these planers look the same, please let me know if you have a different make but the insides are the same, especially with the nylon gear. I would be very interested! I won't be telling you if you should buy one, but, watch the video and see if you think its worth buying and comment below to let me know what you think!
