I spent a lot of time working on scissor kicks back in the day. This lindy hop solo jazz move doesn't have to take that long to master. Just follow these steps. Remember to go back and work on anything that's confusing.

0:18 - Demo (front view)
0:54 - #1 Simplified rhythm (kick step cross step kick step cross step; 1& 2& 3& 4& 5& 6& 7& 8&)
1:30 - #2 Kicks (make sure your kick is out to the side)
1:56 - #3 Improved kick + simplified rhythm
2:24 - #4 Bend your knees
3:22 - #5 Swing rhythm
4:14 - #6 Add pulse (bounce downward on each beat, including the kick)
4:47 - Demo (close up back view)

Tips:
- When bending your knees, engage your glutes and hamstrings (the back of your legs). Sit back a little instead of letting your knees come out over your toes.
- Lindy hop kicks are harder than they look, especially when you add in the pulse. Give it some time and practice if yours don't look fabulous yet.
- Look up at the wall/mirror instead of down at the ground!
