Painting a mural and living life on my terms

Something I’ve learned over the years is how important it is to take ownership of the space around me.

For far too long, I lived in a beige world... not just in color, but in the way I made choices. I surrounded myself with things I thought other people would find appealing instead of filling my life with things that actually brought ME joy.

But not anymore.

For my birthday this year, my daughters and I transformed my office into an even more magical space.

Before we started painting, we wrote our intentions for the space directly on the wall: healing, laughter, play, connection...

Then we picked up our brushes and brought our vision to life with a mural that makes me smile every time I walk into the room.✨

There was a time when I would have been too afraid to do something like this.

Too worried about what other people might think.

Too concerned that I would do it "wrong."

Too worried others wouldn't like what I was creating.

But when I finally let go of the fear of judgment and imperfection, I found something wonderful: a beautiful life.

So here’s my encouragement to you: find a way to bring more of what you love into your space. It doesn’t matter if anyone else likes it. Do it for you.

Because enjoying your own life is reason enough.
