I perform Queen's i want to break free on the Saxophone for the Spanish residents of my town that are on lockdown

It's day 5 of the Spanish mandatory lockdown, Wednesday 18th March 2020

Dangling my £3,000 saxophone out my 4th floor window!? (sorry mum!)
Every night at 8pm across the whole country, citizens lean out their windows and cheer for one minute, to show appreciation the health workers pulling shifts across the nation.
On our street there is a balcony whose owners play music on a big speaker for the hour leading up to the cheering, and play one epic song afterwards. I decided to add a little live element and try to help lift people's spirits!

What is it like to live under lockdown in a country you are not a citizen of?
My name is Sophie Simonds, I'm a musician, and I live in A Coruña, Spain.

Spain has gone into lockdown, closing all schools, churches, shops and other businesses, leaving only supermarkets, pharmacies, tobacconists and takeaway restaurants open. People are permitted to leave their house only if its necessary, e.g dog walking, grocery shopping, or filling out prescriptions. People have been arrested for ignoring the quarantine rule so its pretty serious now

- My main income whilst living here was from busking, which obviously i cant do at the moment, but i'm fortunate to have savings to rely on, whilst so many other freelance artists are left without their income.

- Check on your friends who aren't being paid for this time, they may not feel able to reach out for help but they may need it more than ever!

- Over the course of the lockdown, I'll be keeping you updated with what i do to keep myself entertained, and how the lockdown affects the residents of this amazing town.
