Learn to be a successful industry PhD. When looking for a job, it’s easy to be very goal oriented and direct. We decide where we want to get a job, learn the difference between a resume and a CV, and learn networking fundamentals.
And this all makes sense. As a career coach, I recommend you should define your target – what you want to do and where you want to do it. You should have a strategy to get there. And you should work at being efficient and executing the plan quickly as you can.
But when networking and looking for a job, you don't want to me too direct or you will turn people off.
In this video I tell you a story of a great example of a bad way to look for a job.
