Professor Duara will discuss his new book, The Crisis of Global Modernity: Asian traditions and a sustainable future, which suggests that Asian ideas can help us address the crises of the 21st century.

Prasenjit Duara is the Raffles Professor of Humanities and Director of the Asia Research Institute at the National University of Singapore.

William A Callahan is Professor of International Relations at the LSE, and his recent publications include China Dreams: 20 Visions of the Future, and the documentary video, China Dreams: The Debate.

Stephan Feuchtwang is an emeritus professor in the Department of Anthropology at LSE.

Rana Mitter is Professor of the History and Politics of Modern China at the University of Oxford and Fellow of St Cross College.

Meghnad Desai is Professor Emeritus of Economics at LSE and a Labour peer.

The International Relations Department at LSE (@LSEIRDept) is now in its 87th year, making it one of the oldest as well as largest in the world.
