Bournemouth's Last Trolley Buses (60s Street Scenes)

Amazing footage of the last trolley buses in service in Bournemouth. The system was finally to close in April 1969 after only 33 years in existence, but in that time it had developed 22 routes to become the second largest network outside London, in the South of England. The buses were unique to in that they had two stair cases to the upper deck. Some great street scenes for those that are familiar with Bournemouth and Christchurch or remember visiting the area on holiday. Of course we must not forget the famous Christchurch turntable that allowed the buses to terminate in the narrow streets at the end of the High Street, now preserved as a listed building and last but not least enjoy the many shots of the Mallard Road depot, now a retail park.
