Trolleybus 50-May 11th 2012-Trolleybus Arrivals

A1 (Diddler), Q1 1768, L3 1521 and Tower Wagon 89Q arrive at Fulwell 16:30 Friday 11th May to form the main element of 'Trolleybus 50', the Open Day at Fulwell Depot, Saturday 12th May 2012
The three trolleybuses were towed from the East Anglia Transport Museum at Carlton Colville with the Tower Wagon coming on a low loader.
A1 (Diddler) was built in 1931 and was London's first trolleybus, entering service from Fulwell in May 1931. It is now part of the London Transport Museum Collection at Acton.
Q1 1768 was built in 1948 and operated from Fulwell and Isleworth Depots until 1960 when it was sold to Santander in Spain. It was then purchased by the London Transport Museum and restored back to its original London Transport livery. It is now housed in the Museum's collection at Acton.
L3 1521 was built in 1940 and went into service from Fulwell Depot. It was chosen to be London's last trolleybus and made the last run departing Wimbledon Town Hall at 11.46pm on Tuesday 6th May 1962 for Fulwell via New Malden, Kingston, Hampton and Hampton Hill. It arrived at Fulwell just after 1am on Wednesday 9th May and ended 31 years of Trolleybus operation across the capital. 1521 is now owned by the LTPS and is based at East Anglia Transport Museum at Carlton Colville.
AEC Mercury Tower Wagon 89Q was built in 1936 and withdrawn in 1962 having spent much of its operational life at Fulwell. It was subsequently restored and is now part of the London Transport Museum Collection at Acton.
All four vehicles are still operational.
