The Ligh Load Tester I Wanted Didn’t Exist—So I Vibe Coded it
Well I guess this is one way to understand the RAM price.
Couldn’t make it this far in two days without Artificial Assistance, that’s for sure, even if AI needs to be recalibrated every minutes.
The goal was to make a tool that can detect instability as fast as possible, while being reliable.
Looks like it’s working so far, first probe is fast and less sensible just to detect cores for the test, probe button make a more precise pass, cores 20 ‘not stable’ is due to Nvidia driver affinity on it, so the detection method can be sensible at a pretty low level
Vibe coding is an art, because after 5 hours, any prompt lead to an hallucination 😂
Should be working accross all Windows 10-11 (21h2+) and all 13/14th Intel (didn’t tested it for yet)
I need to test it on my Win 11 i7-13620H too (only need .net 10 runtime)
Basically simulate a light/game like load accross the cores, cache and ram. (Just need to include a directX simulation to complete it)
It read-write little entities (byte array stored in cache), read hwinfo shared memory map into a buffer (stored in ram), arithmetic calculation with double, AVX1 with Vector256, then try to get an approximative IPC (with StopWatch).
If too much variance is detected between passes on a core, it’s marked as ‘maybe instable’.
I don’t understand why Intel doesn’t include something like this in XTU.
I’m so far into the unknown territory that I needed a tool like this but I couldn’t find one.
If this is good enough one day, super realiable and respect HwInfo64 terms of use, maybe I will share it for free (with a big Free fps button that generate a .reg file to lock the GPU driver on the fastest ecore found)
