Life on the Afghanistan border in 2021. Speaking to local Afghan's on the border of Afghanistan & Uzbekistan in the city of Termez. Termez is the most southern city in Uzbekistan and is location of the famous 'Friendship Bridge' border crossing between Afghanistan and the former Soviet Union. Shots of this bridge were beamed Worldwide on February 15, 1989, as it was the site of the final withdrawal of Soviet troops from Afghanistan. Nowadays it is the only border crossing between Afghanistan and modern-day Uzbekistan.
We travelled to Termez to explore life in a provincial town in Uzbekistan and set off towards the border, where we spoke to a group of Afghan's who, despite the current situation, were still crossing the border a few times a week, taking passengers back and forth to the city of Mazar-i-Sharif, Afghanistan.
In what was one of our most interesting & intense days so far, the guys we met explained to us all about current life in Afghanistan in 2021 🇦🇫
