Restoration of a GE model F63 tube radio from 1937 - part one

A while back, I was given this GE radio by youtube member tb40ford and I made an indtroduction video that can be seen here:

In this video; you'll see me remove the chassis from the cabinet, visually inspect the chassis, and test the power transformer. In future videos, you'll see me replace the old capacitors, clean the chassis, and perform other work necessary to bring this radio back to life.

It is important to remember to NEVER plug in an old radio of this age unless you know that it has been checked by a technician. The old capacitors will most likely be leaky and/or shorted and if power is applied, serious damage to the radio may result. It's better to be safe now and spend a few dollars on new capacitors, instead of spending lots of money on a new power transformer.
