Brentwood Proms 2021 - The Duke of Cambridge March

The Brentwood Proms featured the British Army Band Colchester, Kneller Hall Friends Band with the Brentwwod Imperial Youth Band - a total of 167 musicians ranging in age from 10 to 77. The Kneller Hall Friends Band comprises of individuals who have been trained at the Army School of Music, Kneller Hall and come together to help raise funds for the Brentwood Band. The event took place at the Brentwood County High School on the 4th July 2021.
The Duke of Cambrideg March was writenby Malcom Arnold in 1957 to celebrate 100 years of music at Kneller Hall. The Duke of Cambridge, who was nephew of Queen Victoria, was the officer responsible for unifying the diverse bands of the British Army under one standard and the creation of Kneller Hall - The Army School of Music.
The Duke of Cambridge is also fondly remembered by those who attended Kneller Hall as it is the name of the pub opposite the main gate.
