Ship PINEGLEN at Glendale Lift Bridge, Welland Canal, 2012

The upbound (southbound) PINEGLEN is seen on the Welland Canal, heading under the Glendale Lift Bridge, Dec.1, 2012, in St. Catharines, Ontario.
Update: Owner CSL reported on Aug.25, 2017 that PINEGLEN was sold for scrap and will be towed to Turkey for dismantling. On Sept.18, 2017, she departed Montreal under tow to Aliaga.
PINEGLEN was originally named PATERSON, and was built in just 5 months at the Collingwood shipyard in Ontario {...wow! To think that Ontario's industry could once manufacture ships like this so quickly..!} Her construction began Nov.5, 1984, she was launched Apr.18,1985 - and on June 27, 1985, she set off on her maiden voyage!!
Unfortunately, PATERSON ended up being the last new ship to ever be built in Collingwood, because the yard closed down in Sep.1986.
PATERSON's original owners, Patterson Shipping, sold her to CSL in 2002, and her name was then changed to PINEGLEN.
PINEGLEN: b.1985 Collingwood, Ontario - d.2017, Aliaga Turkey - Age: 32
