Ships ATLANTIC HURON & PETER R. CRESSWELL meet at Port Colborne, Welland Canal (2016)

The ATLANTIC HURON, downbound on the Welland Canal, passes by the docked PETER R. CRESSWELL on May 10, 2016. PETER R. CRESSWELL has been docked at this spot in Port Colborne since Dec. 2015, waiting to be scrapped.

Update: on May 17, 2016, PETER R. CRESSWELL left this Port Colborne dock (under her own power) and headed DOWN the canal, back to Lake Ontario. After having spent the ENTIRE winter of 2015-16 sitting right here, beside the Port Colborne scrap dock, the CRESSWELL apparently sailed to Montreal, from where she will be towed some 10,000 km TO TURKEY for scrapping! 😕
The same day on which CRESSWELL left Port Colborne, the ALGOSAR (which had spent the winter of 2015-16 sitting inside the Port Weller Drydock) was towed from Port Weller up to Port Colborne for scrapping.
They must have passed each other at some point on the canal that day.
